We are looking for a skilled and motivated Plant Technician to join our hardworking and dedicated team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, servicing, and diagnostic work on a diverse fleet of equipment, including ride-on and pedestrian mowers, as well as a wide range of handheld machinery such as chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and lawn mowers. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and undertake occasional welding and fabrication work as required. Experience working with large tractors and associated equipment is desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied range of specialist grounds maintenance equipment, including autonomous and remote-controlled mowers, line-marking machines, wood chippers, STIHL equipment, Roberine machines, Toro ride-on mowers, and the tractors operated across our fleet.
The successful candidate will also participate in an out-of-hours standby rota to support breakdown response. A standard call-out fee and overtime payment will be provided for all call-outs attended.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent NVQ qualification.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
Experience working on specialist equipment such as tractors, ride-on mowers, and other grounds maintenance machinery would be advantageous but is not essential, as training may be provided for the right candidate.
