Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs
- Assess each pet’s health and behavior to ensure safe grooming practices and identify any signs of health issues requiring veterinary attention
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to sanitation standards to prevent infections
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet care
- Handle animals gently and confidently, ensuring a stress-free experience for each dog during grooming procedures
- Assist with animal care tasks such as feeding, walking, or light handling when needed to support overall well-being
- Lift and maneuver dogs of varying sizes safely, demonstrating physical strength and proper technique for heavy lifting
Experience
- Previous experience in dog grooming or a related animal care role is highly preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary practices or veterinary experience is a strong plus, aiding in health assessments during grooming sessions
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their concerns effectively
- Ability to lift heavy dogs safely and comfortably as part of routine grooming tasks
