At Tonbridge School Centre, we are a team of over 100 dedicated staff, committed to delivering exceptionally high-quality leisure services to Tonbridge School pupils and the wider public community. Tonbridge School Centre (TSC) boasts some of the finest sport, leisure, and gym facilities in Southeast England and is home to our TSC Members’ Leisure Club.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Recreation Assistants/Lifeguards to join our team. This key role ensures the smooth and safe operation of our facilities, with a broad range of responsibilities including lifeguarding, delivering excellent customer service, assisting with general operations, and supporting the setup and set-down of equipment for activities and events.
The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer care, and enjoy being part of a team-focused and dynamic working environment. This is a varied and rewarding position that plays an important role in the daily running of the Centre, as well as supporting the wider sporting programmes of Tonbridge School.
A current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is desirable, though full support and training will be provided to help the right candidate achieve this certification if not already held.
We offer an annual salary of £26,436.80 with opportunities to undertake relevant and further training, staff rates for the Sports Centre membership and lunch provided free of cost during term time.
Hours of work:
This is a full-time, all-year-round position, 40 hours per week based around a shift system.
Example shifts include:
Monday to Friday: 5:30 am – 2:30 pm or 1:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Saturday: 7:30 am – 8:30 pm
Sunday: 8:30 am – 8:30 pm
Weekend work is required one in every three weekends.
