Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Mobile Waste Operative to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining cleanliness and efficiency within our waste management operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper handling and disposal of waste materials, contributing to a sustainable environment and supporting our commitment to effective waste management practices.
Duties
- Operate waste collection vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collection from vessels, loading and unloading of waste materials to vehicle, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Transporting waste back to waste transfer station or other disposal sites.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including vehicles and equipment, to uphold health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and objectives.
- Liaise with Operations office to obtain work for the day.
- Complete all relevant paperwork (whether electronic or paper based) and feed back to the Operations office.
- Report any issues or hazards encountered during operations to the supervisor promptly.
- Obey waste heirarchy and any site rules.
Skills
- Must hold full driving licence, which includes up to 3.5t vehicles.
- Experience operating and maintaining waste collection equipment effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the loading and unloading of waste materials.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting of issues.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
