We are a small family run business based in Lincoln, LN6 3QS. We produce sauces and puree for a food service. Due to expanding we are now looking after a full time, permanent member of staff to join our team.
As a Quality Controll Operative, you’ll:
- Perform routine quality checks including weights, temperatures, visual inspections, metal detection, seal integrity, and coding verification.
- Record all results accurately on QC paperwork or digital systems.
- Escalate any out‑of‑spec results immediately to the Factory Manager or Quality Manager.
- Verify raw materials and packaging against specifications before use.
- Monitor production lines to ensure correct procedures, recipes, and allergen controls are followed.
- Check that CCPs (Critical Control Points) are operating within limits.
- Ensure traceability is maintained throughout the shift.
- Ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards are followed at all times.
- Support allergen changeovers and verify cleaning effectiveness.
- Conduct swabs (ATP, allergen, hygiene) when required and report results.
- Assist with internal audits, glass & hard plastic checks, and foreign body inspections.
- Complete QC forms, checklists, and verification records with accuracy and clarity.
- Report non‑conformances, deviations, or customer complaints data to the Quality Team.
- Support investigations by providing evidence, samples, and detailed notes.
- Working on production line from time to time as when needed.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Experience in food manufacturing or a similar regulated environment.
- Understanding of basic food safety, hygiene, and quality principles.
- Ability to follow procedures precisely and record information accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence to challenge non‑compliance.
- Experience with CCP monitoring and metal detection.
- Knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and traceability.
- Previous QC or QA experience in food production.
Days 6am to 6pm (12h shift), 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off rotating weekly
Pay rate £13.30/h for start.
Monthly pay.
