About the Role
SureCare Central London is recruiting caring, reliable and dedicated Support Workers to provide personal care and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within a specialist school setting.
This is a rewarding role supporting children with a range of physical, learning and complex care needs, helping them access education and participate fully in school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing personal and intimate care support.
- Assisting with toileting, dressing and personal hygiene.
- Supporting children with mobility and manual handling requirements.
- Following individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Working alongside teachers, therapists and school staff.
- Promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.
- Recording and reporting information as required.
- Following safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or adults with disabilities, learning disabilities or complex needs.
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Reliability and commitment to providing consistent support.
Desirable
- Moving and Handling Training.
- Experience within a school, care or support setting.
- Epilepsy awareness training.
- PEG/Gastrostomy feeding experience.
- Medication administration training.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification.
