Role Overview
JL Logistics is looking for an organised, proactive and commercially aware Project
Manager to manage projects from initial client brief through to successful completion.
The role will primarily focus on our retail installation, POS, logistics and rollout projects,
coordinating clients, fitters, drivers, suppliers and our internal operations team to
ensure every project is properly planned, delivered safely, completed on time and
within budget.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable managing multiple live
projects at once and dealing with the fast-paced and sometimes last-minute nature of
retail installations and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Manage projects from initial brief through to completion and final sign-off.
Review client briefs, store lists, installation instructions and project
requirements.
Build project plans, schedules and installation programmes.
Coordinate nationwide multi-site rollouts and individual installations.
Ensure all project information is accurate and communicated clearly to the
relevant teams.
Monitor project progress and deal proactively with any delays, issues or
changes.
Arrange remedial and snagging visits where required.
Ensure completed projects are properly closed out with photographs, sign-off
sheets and reports.
Client Management
Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout each project.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
Provide regular project updates and communicate any issues promptly.
Attend client meetings, project calls and site meetings where required.
Manage client expectations while ensuring JL Logistics provides a high standard
of service.
Handle project queries, changes and issues professionally and efficiently.
Installation & Fitter Coordination
Plan and coordinate installation teams across the UK.
Ensure fitters receive complete job packs, including addresses, access
information, drawings, visuals, instructions and site contacts.
Confirm appropriate team sizes based on the installation requirements.
Ensure fitters have the correct tools, equipment and information before
attending site.
Liaise with fitters throughout installations and provide support where required.
Review installation photographs and completion information to identify any
snagging requirements.
Transport & Logistics
Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams to coordinate deliveries,
collections and installations.
Ensure goods are available and prepared ahead of scheduled projects.
Coordinate vehicles and delivery requirements based on project specifications.
Consider access restrictions, service yards, timed deliveries, permits and sitespecific
requirements.
Ensure installations and deliveries are planned efficiently to minimise
unnecessary costs and travel.
Health & Safety
Ensure projects are planned and delivered in accordance with JL Logistics'
Health & Safety procedures.
Prepare or coordinate RAMS and other project documentation where required.
Ensure installers have the appropriate PPE, equipment and competency for the
work.
Review site-specific risks, access restrictions and permit requirements.
Escalate any Health & Safety concerns immediately.
Commercial & Cost Management
Prepare project costings and quotations where required.
Monitor project costs against agreed budgets.
Obtain and manage subcontractor/fitter costs.
Identify additional works or variations that may need client approval.
Ensure purchase order requirements are understood and recorded.
Work with the Directors and accounts team to ensure projects are correctly
invoiced.
Look for opportunities to improve project efficiency and profitability without
compromising service.
Administration & Reporting
Keep store lists, schedules, contact information and project trackers up to date.
Produce client installation reports and completion packs.
Record project issues, remedial works and additional costs.
Ensure photographs and sign-off documentation are collected from site.
Provide regular updates to the Directors regarding live projects, upcoming
workload and potential issues.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate should have:
Previous experience in project management, retail installations, POS, logistics,
construction, shopfitting or a similar environment.
Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
The ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.
Confidence dealing with installers, drivers, subcontractors and suppliers.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and general projecttracking
systems.
The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with changing
schedules or issues onsite.
A full UK driving licence would be beneficial.

Working Hours
The role will primarily operate during normal office hours (9am – 5pm); however,
flexibility will be required due to the nature of the business. Retail installations
frequently take place pre-trade, overnight and at weekends, and the Project Manager
may occasionally be required to provide support outside standard working hours.
Pay: £31,500.00-£38,000.00 per year
