Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Haulage Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for subcontracting our freight and our customers' freight to trusted transport providers. In addition, this role will encompass some business development, operational management, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and partners. The ideal candidate will be comfortable seeking new customers, expanding the business, and ensuring smooth operational execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subcontract freight to reliable transport providers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage and coordinate daily haulage operations, including scheduling, route planning, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current customers and subcontractors.
- Seek out new business opportunities through market research, networking, and sales initiatives.
- Negotiate rates and terms with subcontractors and customers to optimize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to service quality.
- Prepare reports on operational activity, costs, and business development progress.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, customer service, and operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Experience in haulage, logistics, or transportation.
- Understanding of freight subcontracting and operational processes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Business development experience with a track record of growing customer base.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Proficiency with transport management systems and MS Office Suite.

Pay: £35,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
