Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of hygiene. Duties
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to meet health and safety standards
- Support the organisation of stock and ingredients within the kitchen storage areas
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service times when required
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards and safety procedures is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and kitchen operations
- Good organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
