Not every classroom has four walls. Sometimes it's a sensory space, a forest trail, a life-skills kitchen, or simply wherever a child feels safe enough to learn.
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with a strong understanding of Autism to join a warm, nurturing specialist school on the outskirts of Market Harborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people who thrive with patience, creativity and individualised support.
This is more than a teaching role, it's about building confidence, celebrating every achievement (big or small), and helping pupils discover what they're capable of.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead a small class of pupils with Autism and associated communication or learning needs, delivering engaging, personalised lessons that inspire curiosity and independence. Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll create an environment where every child feels understood, valued and empowered to succeed.
No two days are ever the same, but every day is rewarding.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching pupils with Autism, either within a specialist or mainstream setting.
- Understands the importance of adapting teaching approaches to meet individual learning styles.
- Is patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about inclusive education.
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Brings energy, creativity and a positive outlook to the classroom every day.
In Return, You'll Enjoy:
- A supportive leadership team that genuinely values its staff.
- Small class sizes, allowing you to focus on quality teaching and meaningful relationships.
- Excellent teaching assistants and specialist support within the classroom.
- Ongoing professional development and opportunities to enhance your SEN expertise.
- A welcoming school community where collaboration and wellbeing are prioritised.
- A beautiful semi-rural setting on the outskirts of Market Harborough with excellent transport links and on-site parking.
The Difference You'll Make
Success isn't always measured by test scores. Sometimes it's a child asking their first question, trying something new, making a friend, or walking into school with a smile. If those moments are what inspire you, we'd love to hear from you.
Whether you're an experienced SEN Teacher or a teacher with a strong Autism background looking to specialise further, this could be the opportunity you've been searching for.
Apply today and help create a learning environment where every child has the opportunity to flourish.
