We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chef De Partie to join our culinary team for the summer season at The Zetland Arms, located right on Kingsdown beach. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection in collaboration with head chefs
- Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation
- Support other kitchen staff during busy service periods, including meal preparation and plating
- Manage stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and report shortages or issues promptly
- Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, promoting a safe working environment
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Experience with meal preparation across a variety of cuisines is desirable
- Familiarity with serving procedures in a fast-paced environment is advantageous
- Previous restaurant experience will be considered an asset but is not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
