Salisbury Support 4 Autism Ltd is celebrating its 21 years as an established provider of residential and supported living services for adults on the autistic spectrum.
We are now excited to be opening our first residential children's home for children and young people with autism and are looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead the service from its opening and establish a culture of excellence, safeguarding and outstanding care.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced children's residential care professional to take ownership of a new service and help shape its culture, standards and development from the outset.
You will work closely with our behavioural and care teams to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which children and young people can thrive.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management and development of the children's home, ensuring that it provides high quality, child centred care and operates in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and Ofsted requirements.
You will:
- Lead the set-up and opening of the new children's home.
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the home.
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people.
- Ensure the home operates in accordance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
- Ensure children receive individualised care that promotes their emotional, social, educational and developmental needs.
- Work closely with our behavioural team to develop and implement effective care and behavioural support plans.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of residential care staff.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels, supervision, training and professional development are maintained.
- Promote a strong culture of safeguarding, positive behaviour support and child-centred practice.
- Build effective relationships with parents/carers, social workers, local authorities, health professionals and other external agencies.
- Manage budgets, resources, records and administrative requirements effectively.
- Monitor the quality of care and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare the service for Ofsted registration and inspection and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Act as a positive role model and provide strong professional leadership to the staff team.
About You
We are looking for someone who is experienced, confident and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with autism.
You will ideally have:
- At least 2 years' experience managing a children's residential service.
- Experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential setting.
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care / Children and Young People's Services, or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and positive behaviour support.
- Experience leading, managing and developing care teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- The ability to build effective relationships with children, families, professionals and external agencies.
- A genuine commitment to providing high-quality, child-centred care.
- A full UK driving licence.

Safeguarding
Salisbury Support 4 Autism Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to complete the appropriate enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks and provide satisfactory references and evidence of relevant qualifications and experience. This is a regulated role and appointment will be subject to the relevant Ofsted and regulatory requirements.
