Key responsibilities
- Preparing monthly management accounts including processing relevant journals to the accounting software, maintaining an up-to-date fixed asset register and other relevant balance sheet schedules
- Produce finance papers for board meetings
- Preparing annual budgets and cashflow forecasts
- Reviewing and filing quarterly VAT returns for three companies
- Assisting with finance related customer enquiries via telephone and email
- Ensuring all systems and procedures are being followed including correct authorisation of invoices and payments
- Preparing monthly supplier payment runs via BACS for the Directors to authorise
- Supply weekly and monthly payroll information on a timely basis to external payroll provider
- Assisting the finance team with bookkeeping, invoicing, bank reconciliation and credit control queries
- Ad-hoc office administration as and when required
Technical Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Experience of working with Sage applications
- At least 3 years’ experience of working in a finance management role
- Good Microsoft Office Skills including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience of preparing budgets, cashflows and forecasts in excel
Personal Skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident telephone manner in particular with Credit Control
- Must be a good communication both written and verbal
- Ability to write correspondence confidently and accurately
- Must maintain strict professionalism and confidentiality in relation to the work undertaken
- Liaising with external accountants for year end process
- Must work to deadlines and respond in a flexible way to the changing demands of workload
- Excellent Organisational Skills including the ability to plan, organize and manage own workload
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with member companies and to be able to work within a small, high-pressured team with the upmost levels of respect
