About the Role
We are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to work closely with our Managing Director across a diverse portfolio of independently owned businesses spanning hospitality, care and property development.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the businesses while providing meaningful financial insight and support to the Managing Director.
The successful candidate will need to go beyond traditional financial reporting, using their commercial acumen to understand the wider business, identify opportunities, manage risks and support informed decision-making.
We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive and confident, with the ability to translate financial information into clear, practical recommendations that help drive business performance and growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Cash flow forecasting
- Management accounts
- Financial accounts
- Annual and rolling budgets
- Payroll preparation and processing
- VAT, CIS & other HMRC returns
- Upskilling and training our existing team
- Implementing better systems, processes, and controls where you believe we can do better
- Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations
- Supplier relationships and management
- Ad hoc projects required from time to time
- Project forecasting and assessments for new business developments
- Be a key point of contact for operational management
- Manage staff expenses across the businesses

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
