CLINICAL FELLOW PLACEMENT IN
PAEDIATRIC RADIOLOGY
This is a great opportunity to work in a world-renowned paediatric centre with internationally recognised Radiologists and Clinicians.
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a major teaching hospital of the University of Liverpool and has been approved as a supra-regional centre for cardiac surgery, epilepsy surgery and major trauma amongst others.
It serves not only the local population of children but is the tertiary and quaternary referral centre for children from Merseyside, Cheshire, parts of Lancashire, Shropshire and North Wales for many sub-specialties of paediatrics.
The hospital has approximately 270 beds including day beds for surgery. The paediatric services and expertise within the hospital are considerable and include cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, audiology, nephrology, respiratory medicine, oncology, orthopaedics and trauma, rheumatology, endocrinology, general surgery and general medicine.
Applications are invited for appointment to Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust for subspecialty training in Paediatric Radiology.
The post will be primarily based at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. The post is available for a 12-month period, starting from February 2027, but the start date may be flexible for the successful candidate.
The post is open to trainees who will have completed at least 5 years of a Specialist Registrar Training Programme in Radiology by 1 st August. This is a fellowship position for a fixed term of one year and only available to international candidates with full GMC registration who can provide confirmation of full funding from their home country. For International trainees it would be desirable to have FRCR qualification for entry to the programme. Equivalent qualifications or experience will only be considered if there are no suitable applicants with FRCR qualification. Post-CCT candidates must have proof of CCT.

The new Hospital in the Park building was completed in September 2015 and we have a completely new, state of the art radiology department with fully updated equipment.
The Department of Radiology is in a central location on the ground floor of the hospital. The department performs approximately 73,000 examinations per year.
