Overview
We are seeking dedicated English, Maths and Primary School Tutors. The role is suitable for enthusiastic in-person Tutors to support students in preparing for National 5 and Higher exams in particular.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for teaching, and experience working with children, including those requiring additional support. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' academic journeys by providing personalised guidance and encouragement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver customised tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs, focusing on core subjects and specialised areas as required
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students with organisational skills and study techniques to enhance their academic performance
- Collaborate with parents to ensure comprehensive support for students
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions
- Promote a love of learning through motivating and inspiring students
Requirements
- An Up to date DBS background check
- A recognised Degree level qualification in the subject that you teach
- Proven experience in tutoring and teaching children, young learners and teenagers.
- Knowledge of special education needs and strategies for supporting diverse learning styles
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain concepts and foster understanding
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate students of varying abilities and backgrounds
- Organisation skills to plan lessons effectively and track student progress
- Availability for in-person sessions during scheduled times

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
