'Summary'
We are looking for an organised, proactive and hands-on Stores & Stock Control Supervisor to take ownership of our component stores and stock control processes. This is a key role within our manufacturing operation, ensuring materials are available, accurately controlled and issued efficiently to support production.
'Key Responsibilities'
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the stores, maintaining accurate stock records within our ERP system, preparing materials for production, and ensuring stock levels are maintained to meet manufacturing schedules
- Manage all raw materials, components and consumable stock.
- Receive, inspect and book goods into the ERP system.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
- Add, update and maintain stock items within the ERP system.
- Pick, batch and prepare materials for production using drawings, bills of materials and job worksheets.
- Issue materials to production in line with manufacturing schedules.
- Monitor stock levels and place replenishment orders when required.
- Carry out regular stock counts and investigate stock discrepancies.
- Liaise with purchasing, planning and production departments to ensure material availability.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores environment.
- Assist with stock takes, audits and continuous improvements to stores processes.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a stores, stock control or inventory management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to read engineering drawings, bills of materials and production worksheets (preferred).
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership of the stores.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with production, purchasing and planning teams.
- A forklift licence is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
