This is a part-time role of 20 hours per week, with flexible working arrangements. The successful candidate will be expected to work some evenings and weekends to support charity events and collaborate with fundraising partners. The role also includes providing cover in the Young People’s Shop in Chichester, so the post holder will need to be flexible and willing to accommodate an agreed work pattern as part of their responsibilities.
Salary
£17,297 per annum (FTE £32,000) plus pension
Annual holiday entitlement is 6.6 weeks (including bank and public holidays), calculated as:
6.6 × contracted weekly hours = annual entitlement in hours. 20 x 6.6 = 120 hours
Holiday entitlement increases with continuous service
About Young People's Shop
YPS is a charity which offers free and confidential support for young people aged between 11 and 25 who are struggling with their mental health, our aim is to help young people overcome challenges, improve their wellbeing, and reach their full potential. through counselling, advice, mentoring, and practical support, we empower young people to make positive choices and build brighter futures.
We are based in Chichester but aim to ensure that every young person in Chichester and Arun Districts can access help and advice when they need it.
Purpose of the Role
The Community Fundraiser will develop, manage and grow fundraising income from individuals, community groups, schools, local businesses, and events. The successful candidate will build strong relationships across the local community, inspire support for YPS’s work, and help secure sustainable funding to enable the charity to continue supporting young people.
Key Responsibilities
Community Fundraising
· Develop and deliver an annual community fundraising plan, with a strong focus on local business and community fundraising.
· Build relationships with schools, parish councils, community groups, faith organisations, clubs, local businesses and individual supporters to generate income and partnerships.
· Identify and pursue opportunities for sponsorship, donations, fundraising events and charity partnerships.
· Encourage and support fundraising activities undertaken on behalf of YPS.
· Develop new fundraising initiatives to attract supporters and increase income.
· Work with external fundraiser to research suitable grant-making trusts, foundations and local fundraising opportunities and assist with writing small community grant applications.
Events
· Plan, coordinate and deliver fundraising events throughout the year.
· Support third-party fundraising events organised by community supporters.
· Ensure events are delivered safely, within budget, and in accordance with charity policies.
· Arrange event promotion and supporter communications.
Corporate Partnerships
· Identify and approach local businesses for sponsorship, donations and charity partnerships.
· Manage existing corporate relationships and maximise opportunities for engagement.
· Create tailored proposals and presentations for prospective partners.
· Organise employee fundraising and volunteering opportunities.
Supporter Stewardship
· Maintain excellent relationships and develop stewardship with donors and supporters.
· Develop legacy income.
· Ensure supporters receive timely acknowledgements and updates about the impact of their contributions.
· Develop compelling fundraising communications, including social media content, newsletters and case studies, working with colleagues to gather stories, outcomes and information that show the impact of the charity’s work.

Administration and Reporting
· Maintain accurate supporter and fundraising records.
· Monitor fundraising income against targets.
· Prepare reports on fundraising activities and outcomes.
· Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, GDPR requirements and the charity’s internal policies.
