Role Overview
The Front End Loader (FEL) Driver is responsible for safely operating the FEL to support daily waste processing activities within the Mechanical Treatment Plant. The role ensures continuous material flow, maintains safe working areas, and supports plant operations during peak and contingency periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the Front End Loader (NPORS qualified) to move, load, and manage waste streams within the MT facility.
- Create and maintain waste pockets for processing equipment and external contractors.
- Support plant start up, shutdown, and ongoing operations by ensuring consistent material feed.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, report defects, and maintain equipment in safe working order.
- Assist with housekeeping, clearing blockages, and maintaining safe access routes.
- Follow all site safety procedures, traffic management rules, and operational instructions.
- Communicate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, and external contractors.
Requirements
- Valid NPORS Front End Loader qualification (mandatory).
- Previous experience in waste, recycling, or industrial operations preferred.
- Ability to work independently and follow operational direction.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and compliance requirements.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the 06:00–14:00 shift.
