Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home
Location: Dagenham and surrounding area
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a residential children’s home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help maintain high standards of care and support the effective day-to-day operation of the home.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the running of the home.
- Leading, supervising and supporting residential care staff.
- Ensuring care plans and records are maintained to a high standard.
- Promoting safeguarding and the wellbeing of young people.
- Supporting staff with incidents and challenging situations.
- Working with families and other professionals involved in the young person’s care.
- Assisting with staff rotas, reports and general administration.
- Ensuring the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements and relevant legislation.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- An NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent.
- Previous experience within children’s residential care.
- Experience in a senior or supervisory position.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and relevant regulations.
- The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
- An Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete one.
