The Pain Management Clinic is a 6-bed day care unit that offers a wide variety of treatments and clinics for patients with chronic pain. You will be a key member of a specialist team of Consultant Anaesthetists, nurses, healthcare assistants and a dedicated administrative team committed to delivering the highest standards of care to patients through a variety of evidence-based approaches. The role involves responsibility for all aspects of patient care within the chronic pain management setting.
This is a diverse and dynamic position requiring flexibility, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, in response to evolving service needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally. The role is physically demanding and therefore requires a good level of physical fitness and manual dexterity.

- Support and collaborate with the Acute Pain Service as required.

- Ensure the safe prescribing, supply, storage, administration, checking, and disposal of medications, including controlled drugs, in line with Trust policy and NMC standards.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and contemporaneous nursing documentation.
- Assist in the organisation and day-to-day management of the clinical area to support smooth service delivery.
- Once competent in team management skills, take charge of the clinical area on a regular basis in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility or their deputy

- In the absence of the Junior Sister/Sister, act as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and staff in addressing concerns and complaints, ensuring these are managed promptly and professionally.

- Assist the Sister in orienting new staff to their roles and responsibilities, acting as a mentor and source of guidance.
