This is a rare and exciting opportunity to teach and support the growth of SupaJam Swanley. This role would suit candidates with a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs (SEND) and barriers to education. SupaJam Swanley opened its doors in September 2013 was our first established base! Interest in the Swanley college has been consistently growing with momentum for over 10 years and we are excited to see our community expands further than ever before.
The Inclusion Lead is responsible for ensuring that all learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at SupaJam are fully supported to access education, achieve their potential, and successfully prepare for adulthood. The role involves leading inclusive and trauma responsive practice, coordinating support services, and ensuring compliance with statutory SEND requirements within our Swanley base.
We're looking for:
Essential
- Strong background of education, effective inclusion and SEND Legislation.
- Experience of teaching or supporting young people with SEND in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of effective SEND support strategies, Individual Support Plans, and EHCP processes
- Leadership or management experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Relevant teaching qualification/SEND specialism e.g. QTS, PGCE, Level 5 DIT
- Relevant SENDco or educational leadership qualification.
- Experience in post-16 settings (particularly FE or specialist colleges).
- Experience managing a team or leading whole-college initiatives.
- Knowledge of trauma informed practices.
