Production Planner
Location: Mosstodloch
Contract: Full time, permanent.
About the role:
We are looking for a Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team supporting a busy sawmill in Mosstodloch. You will manage manufacturing plans to ensure timely production, optimal inventory levels and efficient use of resources. This is a site-based role, applicants should be within commuting distance of Mosstodloch (Moray, Scotland) or willing to relocate. Hours of work are: 07:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Developing production plans based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity constraints
- Coordinating material requirements and procurement timing with purchasing and supply chain teams
- Monitoring production progress and adjusting plans to address delays or priority changes
- Managing inventory levels, conducting physical counts, and updating records in ERP system
- Creating weekly or monthly production timetables and aligning them with sales forecasts and inventory goals
- Coordinating production workflow for multiple products, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal delays
- Communicating schedule changes and priorities to production supervisors, managers, and cross-functional teams
- Participating in sales and operations planning (S&OP) meetings to align demand and supply
- Integrating new product introductions and engineering changes into production schedules
Skills and Experience:
- Substantial recent experience in a similar supply chain management or manufacturing planning role is desirable.
- Strong project management and organisational skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with ERP and MRP systems (we use Pinja) for scheduling and inventory management
- Analytical skills to monitor production performance, inventory levels, and schedule adherence
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production planning techniques, including capacity planning and resource allocation
