EduLink is currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Birmingham.
This rewarding role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and reach their full potential. You'll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies that support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs
- Support the child's learning, communication, and social development throughout the school day
- Implement strategies outlined in the pupil's EHCP and individual support plans
- Build a positive, trusting relationship to encourage confidence and independence
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour using a calm and consistent approach
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school, care, or similar setting
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, or other additional needs is desirable
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
