Job Summary
Join our brand new team as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant and become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will support the kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. We need someone who is able to work on their own, with good organisation skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients under supervision.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials in accordance with health regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area during and after service periods.
- Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Hand washing dishes will be required
Qualifications
- Previous experience is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques also desirable but not essentials
- Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and safety protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in serving or hospitality roles is a plus but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
Join a brand new young team at a fast casual take away only lunch concept. This job will mostly entail hand washing larger containers and equipment, help with putting away deliveries, general deep cleaning and small amounts of prep like peeling, slicing, using a mandolin.
This role is a weekend only position, mostly Saturday and Sunday with the occasional Friday, day time only, between 7am and 4pm. Average 15hr a week.
