Joining our friendly Estates team, you will support the delivery of an efficient estates maintenance service to St Margaret’s Hospice, based in Taunton.
The Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in delivering front-line maintenance services, responding to defects and breakdowns, and carrying out planned preventative maintenance across our hospice sites.
Role details
- Salary: £25,472 per annum
- Hours: 37 per week
- Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4:30pm
- Contract: Permanent, Full time
The successful candidate will have
- Good all-around knowledge and experience of basic maintenance tasks
- Skills to enable them to undertake fault finding and general maintenance on all aspects of the fabric of the building and equipment
- Opportunity to undertake on-the-job training as part of a formal training plan to ensure safe work systems are maintained at all times, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for local travel to collect materials, with mileage expenses reimbursed.
Who are we looking for
- An experienced maintenance assistant to join our team who is enthusiastic and eager to provide a comfortable hospice environment for our patients and staff.
- Able to encourage and motivate our maintenance volunteers as well as support the Maintenance Supervisor to deliver an effective operational maintenance service.
