No28 bar is an award-winning late-night institution affectionately known as Newcastle city centre’s finest hidden gem open seven days a week from 4pm/Midday until 3am.
Located up a hidden staircase, tucked inside the entrance to the Grainger Market on Nelson Street. No28 ranges from laid back cocktails and food midweek, to bottomless brunch and clubbing on a weekend.
We are looking for experienced full-time and part-time staff to join our team, ranging between 10-30 hours.
Applicants must be aged 18+
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, following established recipes and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and stocked
- Verify guest identification to ensure responsible serving in compliance with Challenge 25 Policies
- Handle cash transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems, giving correct change and processing payments efficiently
- Monitor guest behavior to promote a safe environment, intervening when necessary with tact and professionalism
- Follow food safety protocols to uphold hygiene standards and prevent contamination
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar setting or high volume cocktail setting is essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and responsible serving practices is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly while maintaining quality service
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse guests confidently
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in fast-paced environments
