Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Operate delivery vehicles, including vans, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring items are secured for transport.
- Navigate routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and receipts.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
