Provide general assistance to the Cressex Health Centre team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Main responsibilities
following is typical of the duties the post holder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time
Reception
To undertake basic reception duties and promote the ethos of the organisation in a professional and courteous manner at all times
Consult with members of practice team regarding patients and visitors as necessary
Management of all telephone enquiries, receiving incoming telephone calls in a timely manner, and answer, take messages or redirect as appropriate
Ensure all patients are recorded on arrival and external customers/visitors are appropriately recorded in the visitor book and aware of emergency evacuation procedures and safeguarding policy
Responsible for the delivery of completed repeat prescriptions to patients verifying names and addresses
Ensure the reception area is presentable, professional and maintained to a high standard at all times
Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
Appointments
Process appointment requests in accordance with CHC policy for all appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
To manage patient requests/concerns efficiently and in the most appropriate manner
To monitor patient arrivals and waiting times and assist as necessary
Administration
To provide administration support to the Lead GP and Nurse for a specific clinical area on request
To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
To work in accordance of written protocols
To provide information such as leaflets and contact details to patients pertaining to other healthcare services and resources as appropriate
Confidential management of patient information at all times. Registering/Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and updating as necessary
Filing post in medical records as requested
Fax and photocopy as requested
Be willing to be trained to provide first-aid/medical/welfare assistance
repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines
Telephone
Cover for other receptionists when necessary
Other Tasks
Issuing/receiving prescription pads to/from GP’s at the start/end of each day in accordance with CHC policy
Clear rooms after surgeries<br> Have a thorough knowledge of building security system – to include doors/windows/alarms
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Line Manager/Practice Manager
Reporting all welfare / H&S safety concerns to Line Manager in a timely manner
