Phlebotomist within our clinic in Great Portland Street, London.
Main Location : Randox Health, 143-149 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 6QN. Successful applicants will work within a dynamic rota model. This means that while rotas will be provided in advance, scheduled shifts may be across different clinic locations within the relevant cluster area, depending on customer demand and operational requirements. This role will cover the following Randox Health Clinics Great Portland Street, Kensington, Kings Road, White City and St Pauls.
Contract Offered : Full-time, permanent
Working Hours / Shifts : 4 on 4 off shift pattern 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on a Sunday. Rotas are provided well in advance although rotas are subject to change depending on support needed for cover.
For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.
In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
What does the Phlebotomist role involve?
This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. The main duties of the role include:
- Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
- Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
- Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
- Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
- Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
- Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
- Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
- Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
- Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.
Essential criteria:
- Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
- Confident using IT programmes.
- Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
- Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
- Strong communication skills.
- Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
Desirable:
- Experience in a private healthcare setting.
- Experience in customer service.
- 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
- Sales / Retail experience.
