Public Health is responsible for understanding the overall health needs of the population of Warwickshire, and finding ways to improve it. We design and deliver services to prevent illness, promote health and enable individuals to live independently and maintain their wellbeing. We are looking for someone to provide project support for the Public Health team, to work closely with the Public Health Service Manager (Strategic Partnerships) to provide support for the Health and Wellbeing Board, and the delivery of Warwickshire’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
We’re looking for a Public Health Officer to join us full-time, 37 hours per week working flexibly from our base in Warwick.
The Role
Joining our team, you’ll be responsible for providing project support to the Strategic Partnerships Manager within the Public Health team. This is a key role that includes supporting the delivery of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2026-31 including organising consultation and engagement events and analysing findings to support recommendations for the Board. You’ll also have responsibility for supporting the Strategic Partnerships Manager to forward plan and organise Health and Wellbeing Board and other partnership meetings, as well as support the development and publication of the bi-monthly Health and Wellbeing Board Bulletin and other related communications.
You’ll also provide project support for a number of other key Public Health programmes including the production of the Director of Public Health Annual Report. In addition, you’ll also undertake some financial work including creating purchase orders and paying invoices and support the wider team as necessary.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role you’ll need degree level or equivalent experience, preferably in a field related to public health as well as evidence of previous project support with good analytical and communication skills. This is a busy role so it’s important you have well developed organisational skills, and are used to working under pressure to meet deadlines and are resilient. You will have good IT skills, MS office preferred, and database experience as well as the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative are also required.
