Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Care Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of a reputable care home specialising in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living, nursing home environments, and dementia care. This leadership role requires excellent organisational skills, supervisory experience, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents. The Care Home Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high standards of care, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Duties
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring smooth operational management.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Supervise and support staff members, fostering a positive team environment through effective leadership and supervision.
- Ensure medication administration is carried out accurately and in accordance with legal and organisational policies.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and industry standards.
- Liaise with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care services.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing rotas efficiently to meet operational needs.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in resident care quality and staff development programmes.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, staff records, and regulatory reports.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior or dementia care.
- Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or management experience within a care home setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to develop detailed care plans and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and regulatory compliance standards relevant to elderly or specialised care settings.
- Compassionate approach with outstanding communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s and dementia-specific care practices such as person-centred approaches.
- Ability to motivate staff while fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Experience in managing budgets and resources efficiently within a regulated environment.
