Queensway Pharmacy is a busy and progressive community pharmacy dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to our local community. We are looking for a motivated and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACT) to join our friendly and supportive team.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services. You will work closely with pharmacists, dispensers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and prepare prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional requirements.
- Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions (ACT qualified candidates).
- Manage and reconcile prescription claims and endorsements.
- Support the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records.
- Assist with stock management, ordering, and inventory control.
- Support and train pharmacy support staff where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with GPhC standards, SOPs, and pharmacy legislation.
- Deliver excellent customer service and respond to patient queries professionally.
- Liaise with GP surgeries, care homes, and other healthcare providers to resolve prescription issues.
- Contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the pharmacy.
Essential RequirementsPharmacy Technician
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a busy pharmacy environment.
Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACT)
- Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Accredited Accuracy Checking qualification.
- Proven experience in community pharmacy.
- Confidence in carrying out final accuracy checks safely and efficiently.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Pharmacy First and NHS clinical services.
- Knowledge of PMR systems such as ProScript Connect.
- Experience managing prescription queries and patient medication ordering.
- Ability to support workflow optimisation and team development.
