Whether it's helping a cyclist choose prescription sports sunglasses, advising on high-performance lenses for runners and golfers, or supporting customers looking for premium designer eyewear, no two days are the same.
We're looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician who shares our passion for optics, premium products and delivering outstanding customer service.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to move beyond the traditional high street environment into a modern, fast-growing online business.
As our Senior Dispensing Optician, you'll be the company's lead optical professional, working alongside a team of three experienced Optical Assistants and reporting directly to the Director.
You'll play a key role in ensuring every customer receives expert dispensing advice while helping us continually improve our products, services and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescription orders for accuracy and suitability.
- Provide expert advice on lenses, coatings, frames and prescription sunglasses.
- Support customers purchasing premium sports eyewear, lifestyle sunglasses and designer optical frames.
- Advise on specialist products for cycling, running, golf, skiing and other sports.
- Handle complex dispensing enquiries via phone, email and online channels.
- Act as the technical lead for the Optical Assistants.
- Maintain the highest standards of GOC compliance and professional practice.
- Identify opportunities to improve dispensing processes and reduce remakes.
- Work closely with the Director to develop new products, improve customer journeys and support continued business growth.
About You
You are passionate about optics and enjoy helping customers find the right solution for their lifestyle.
You'll have:
- GOC registration as a Dispensing Optician.
- ABDO qualification.
- Around five years' post-qualification experience (although we welcome applications from more experienced candidates).
- Excellent knowledge of prescription lenses, sports eyewear and premium optical products.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence leading and supporting colleagues.
- An interest in sports, fashion or premium eyewear brands would be a real advantage.
