Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants, supporting their developmental needs in accordance with best practices. Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care and education tailored to infants’ individual needs and developmental stages
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork
- Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with parents during regular updates
- Support children's transition between activities and routines smoothly and calmly
- Assist with daily administrative tasks related to child records and activity planning
- Uphold safeguarding policies at all times to ensure the safety of all children in your care
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting, particularly with infants
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to build trusting relationships with families and colleagues
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices for infant care
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are highly desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel between settings or activities outside the nursery
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their early development stages
