The Role
As a Senior Project Manager – Estates, you will lead the delivery of construction, infrastructure and estates projects across QinetiQ's UK portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Day-to-day, you'll manage projects through the full lifecycle from business case approval through to completion, working with stakeholders, consultants and contractors to deliver high-quality estate improvements that support QinetiQ's operational requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the delivery of allocated estates and construction projects across multiple UK sites
Defining and managing project scope, objectives, budgets and delivery plans
Managing project teams and embedding a positive health and safety culture
Managing external consultants and contractors throughout project delivery
Monitoring and reporting project costs, schedules and risks
Mentoring junior Project Managers and supporting project management best practice
Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager – Estates:
Over five years' experience delivering construction projects and leading project teams
Experience delivering projects within client-side environments
Detailed knowledge of RIBA stages and construction project lifecycles
Experience managing project budgets, cost plans and project risks
Working knowledge of NEC3 contracts, Building Regulations and CDM Regulations
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Essential qualifications for the Senior Project Manager – Estates:
Degree qualification in a relevant discipline such as Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Building Surveying
Professional accreditation such as APM, PRINCE2 or CIOB would be desirable but not essential

This role is 37 hours per week based at any of our main UK locations with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.

These facilities enable QinetiQ to conduct a wide range of research, testing and development activities that support both military and civilian applications helping to advance technology and support national security.
