The Role
We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Executive (Information Technology) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with decision-makers, generating qualified leads, and contributing directly to revenue growth across our consultancy, managed services, and IT resourcing divisions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with clients, opening new doors, developing strategic partnerships, and helping organisations solve complex business challenges through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across public and private sector organisations.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, LinkedIn, referrals, events, outbound campaigns, and market research.
- Engage with senior stakeholders including CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, Heads of Digital, Procurement Managers, and Programme Directors.
- Arrange and attend client meetings, presentations, and discovery workshops.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline using CRM systems.
- Prepare proposals, capability statements, and commercial responses.
- Support bid submissions and framework opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Understand client challenges and align Akoni's services to their business needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling services.
Market Development
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies.
- Identify opportunities within Digital Transformation, AI, Data, Cloud, ServiceNow, Dynamics 365, Cyber Security, and IT Resourcing.
- Attend industry events, conferences, networking sessions, and exhibitions.
Revenue Generation
- Meet and exceed individual sales targets and KPIs.
- Generate new business revenue across consultancy, project delivery, managed services, and recruitment services.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and expansion into new markets.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management, or IT Recruitment.
- Experience selling IT services, technology solutions, digital transformation services, or professional services.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM systems, and lead generation tools.
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving targets.
- Full right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience selling one or more of the following:

- IT Resourcing and Recruitment Services
- Experience working with public sector frameworks such as G-Cloud, DOS, Crown Commercial Service, or similar procurement frameworks.
