Midlands Care Direct is an established and growing care provider delivering high-quality, person-centred support accoss Leicester and Leicestershire. We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Team Leader to help develop and lead our domiciliary care service.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding care, supporting staff, and ensuring people remain safe, independent and well supported in their own homes.
About the Role
As a Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home care service, ensuring that care is delivered safely, effectively, and in line with CQC Fundamental Standards and Leicestershire County Council contractual requirements.
You will provide leadership to care staff, oversee quality assurance, support service users and their families, and promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Care Support Workers.
- Conduct spot checks, competency assessments, and staff observations.
- Carry out service user assessments and reviews.
- Develop and update person-centred care plans and risk assessments.
- Ensure safe medication practices and complete medication audits.
- Support the coordination of care visits and respond to changes in service user needs.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns.
- Maintain accurate records using electronic care management systems.
- Liaise with social workers, district nurses, GP's, occupational therapists, and other professionals.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Support recruitment, induction, mentoring, and supervision of staff.
- Promote independence, dignity, choice, and person-centred care.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Team Leader Senior Carer, or Care Coordinator within a domiciliary care setting.
- Good understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and person-centred care.
- Experience conducting supervisions, spot checks, and competency assesments.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehichle for work.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and participate in the on-call rota.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or working towards it).
- Experience with electronic care planning and rostering systems
- Experience working with local authority commissioned services
- Train-the-Trainer qualifications or specialist training in areas such as medication, moving and handling, or dementia care.

Pay: £25,420.00-£53,209.27 per year
