Production Team Leader
Location: DoughGirl Bakery, Skegness
Department: Production
Reports to: Bakery Manager
Hours: Full Time (including one Saturday per 3 months and flexibility during peak trading periods)

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a motivated Production Team Leader who will inspire the team, maintain excellent production standards and help drive continuous improvement throughout the bakery.
The Role
The Production Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of bakery operatives to ensure daily production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead by example, support and develop your team, monitor performance and ensure all production processes are followed consistently.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership
- Lead, motivate and support a team of production operatives.
- Set high standards through leading by example.
- Ensure team members understand daily priorities and production plans.
- Conduct daily team briefings where appropriate.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Coach individuals to improve performance and confidence.
- Encourage teamwork and positive communication across departments.
Production Management
- Deliver daily production plans on time.
- Ensure products are manufactured to specification.
- Monitor productivity and labour efficiency.
- Allocate labour effectively throughout each shift.
- React quickly to changing production requirements.
- Minimise downtime wherever possible.
- Monitor production output and identify opportunities for improvement.
Quality & Food Safety
- Ensure all products meet DoughGirl quality standards.
- Follow and enforce all food safety procedures.
- Maintain excellent hygiene standards throughout production.
- Complete all required production paperwork accurately.
- Ensure full product traceability is maintained.
- Escalate quality concerns immediately.
- Support internal and external audits.
Health & Safety
- Promote a positive safety culture.
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times.
- Carry out equipment and area checks.
- Report hazards, accidents and near misses immediately.
- Ensure PPE is worn correctly.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Reduce waste wherever possible.
- Support new product launches.
- Help develop improved production processes.
- Encourage team suggestions and innovation.
- Support business growth through continuous improvement initiatives.

- Previous experience within a food manufacturing or bakery environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Strong organisational skills.

- High attention to detail.
- Good understanding of food hygiene.
- Flexible and reliable.
- Competent with basic computer systems.
Desirable
- Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
- HACCP awareness.
- Experience working within SALSA, BRCGS or similar food manufacturing standards.
- First Aid qualification.
- Manual Handling qualification.
