We're a precision engineering and manufacturing business looking for a reliable, hands-on operative to join our finishing team. This role centres on dipping brass components into a bronzing solution to achieve a high-quality antique and bronzed finish on our products.
No previous experience in bronzing is required — full training will be given. What matters most is a good eye for detail, a steady, methodical approach, and a willingness to work carefully with chemical finishing solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and cleaning brass components ready for dipping
- Immersing components into bronzing solution to achieve a consistent finish
- Controlling dip times and process steps to meet quality standards
- Rinsing, drying and sealing finished parts
- Carrying out quality checks and rejecting parts that don't meet the standard
- Keeping the work area clean, tidy and organised
What we're looking for
- A careful, consistent worker with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working with your hands and following a set process
- Able to follow health & safety and chemical-handling procedures (training provided)
- Reliable timekeeping and a good work ethic
- Previous experience in metal finishing, plating, painting or a similar manual/production role is an advantage but not essential
Hours & pay
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Starting rate £14.50 per hour
- Shift times: 8:00 - 16:30
