Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wok Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic wok dishes, ensuring high-quality food presentation, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of wok-based dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used efficiently to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the wok station in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal flavour and presentation
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines during food preparation and cooking processes
- Manage stock levels of ingredients, notifying management of shortages or expiry dates
- Serve dishes promptly, ensuring they meet quality standards before presentation to customers
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Previous experience working as a chef specialising in Asian cuisine or wok dishes is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience working in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment, demonstrating efficiency under pressure
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and serving protocols
