What you'll be doing
As a Laundry Assistant, you'll play an important role in ensuring residents' clothing, linen and other items are clean, cared for and available when needed.
You'll:
- Collect, wash, dry, iron and fold residents' clothing and linen, returning items promptly to the correct areas.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and effectively, including washing machines, dryers, irons and presses.
- Maintain clean, well-stocked and organised linen cupboards, ensuring resident clothing is separated and stored correctly.
- Wash mop heads and reusable cleaning equipment for the Housekeeping team.
- Carry out basic laundry repairs and keep laundry equipment, filters and the laundry area clean and well maintained.
- Follow health & safety, hygiene and organisational procedures, identifying and reporting any risks or hazards.
- Work as part of a supportive team while treating residents and their belongings with care and respect.
