Responsible for
- Work in line with Garland lodge’s philosophy of care, policies and procedures and all relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. CQC) to ensure people who use the service enjoy quality lives.
- Leadership of the staff team which results in the overall delivery of a high-quality service
- Ensure that the service users have the opportunity to reach their full potential and support them to maximise. their rights as residents of their local community.
- In the absence of the Registered manager take overall responsibility for all aspects of running of the service.
Duties & Responsibilities
Managing the Service
1. Support and assist the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the service, ensure that high standards of care and support are maintained. Adhere to all requirements and regulations. Continuously monitor, assesses and improve the quality-of-service provision to service users.
2. Support the registered manager to ensure that :
a. Each individual has a key worker, detailed support plan and effective risk assessments and guidelines.
b. The service users have reviews within specified timescales
c. Information for reviews is prepared in a timely manner and well presented.
3. Work with the Team leaders to ensure:
a. Their monthly supervision
b. Their professional development and opportunities to support this.
c. The timely completion of their allocated tasks and duties.
4. Safeguarding practices:
a. Ensuring that all safeguarding measure are adhered to and implemented.
b. Raising safeguarding where is required according to the safeguarding thresholds.
c. Ensure all the relevant paperwork and documentation for safeguarding have been diligently completed.
d. Updating of the safeguarding systems
5. The quarterly rostering of the staff. Ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently whilst ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet people’s needs. Report inadequate staffing levels to the registered manager.
6. Under the direction of the registered manager co-ordinate all matters relating to medication, ensuring all procedures are rigorously followed and all support staff are appropriately trained, and competency assessed.
7. Promote positive internal communication and supportive working relationships with the service users in a person-centered way. Support staff to maintain strong communication and professional relationships with purchasers, health professionals, other agencies, relatives, and neighbors.
8. Maintain an appropriate balance between management and ‘hands-on’ work, meeting the needs of the service users living in the homes.
9. Support the assessment of potential new tenants or residents, guided by the assessment and referrals policy.
10. Facilitate monthly staff meetings with accompanying records.
11. Maximize opportunities for people to be involved in all aspects of their homes. Feedback any issues to the registered manager and take appropriate action.
12. Ensure that the buildings are well-maintained and provides a safe and stimulating environment for people. Completes regular Health & Safety monitoring and risk assessments and ensures compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation.

Managing People
16. Monitor the staff team and the support they provide to ensure individuals are supported effectively, and have their needs met in a positive and proactive way.
17. Support the team leaders to ensure the delivery of a quality service, ensure awareness of the need to develop, implement, review and update person-centered support packages, agreed with individuals.
18. Monitor and review record keeping.
19. Work alongside the manager to manage the recruitment of high-quality staff. Proactively support the manager with inductions, supervisions, staff development (including appraisals and probation reviews), performance management and training. Liaise with the manager to take appropriate action when staff performance falls below acceptable levels.
20. Provide staff with appropriate support, information and training to enable them to effectively deliver their roles. Ensure staff adhere to all policies and procedures.
21. Ensuring all physical and mental needs are meet without delay.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
22. Adhere to the Garland lodge code of conduct and be a positive ambassador for Garland lodge at all times.
23. Keep own learning and development up to date and attend training courses as required.
24. In the absence of the manager attend the regional monthly managers meeting
25. Work positively in partnership with all other departments within Garland lodge
26. Undertake any other reasonable management requests.

As a Team Leader, you will be essential in overseeing the daily operations of our placements, in Dulwich, Greenwich and Chadwell Heath respectively, ensuring high standards of care and support for residents. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will leverage your core skills in management and leadership to supervise staff and enhance team performance. Your premium experience in assisted living and senior care will guide the development of care plans, while your strong communication skills will foster a collaborative environment. Qualifications
- Proven management and supervising experience in a supported living setting
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on senior care and assisted living
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents and staff
- Experience in mental Health, Autism and Challenging behaviour, along with medication administration
- Background in psychology is highly desirable
