Aequitas Automotive Ltd is looking for a friendly, capable and well-organised Customer Service Adviser to join our insurance team.
You will support new and existing customers by telephone, email and online channels. This includes providing clear information about our insurance products, assisting customers with purchases and completing the administration required throughout the life of their policies.
Typical enquiries include changes of address, transferring cover to another vehicle, supplying policy documents and processing cancellations. You will also help customers understand their options and complete purchases when they contact us.
This is an inbound and not a cold-calling position. Our customers approach us directly or already have a policy with us.
You will work within an established FCA-regulated insurance broker, where accuracy, good judgement and treating customers fairly are as important as providing friendly and efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Responding to customer enquiries by telephone, email and online channels.
- Providing clear and accurate information about our insurance products.
- Assisting customers through the online or telephone purchasing process.
- Processing policy transfers, cancellations, changes of address and other amendments.
- Issuing policy documents and written confirmations.
- Taking payments and processing refunds where required.
- Maintaining complete and accurate customer and policy records.
- Identifying customers who may require additional support.
- Taking ownership of routine enquiries through to completion.
- Recognising complaints and referring them through the correct process.
- Working in accordance with company procedures, data-protection requirements and FCA rules.
- Liaising with colleagues, insurers and administrators when further investigation is required.
- Contributing to the performance of the customer service team.
- Helping identify practical ways to improve our service and administrative processes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in, motor trade, customer services, administration, insurance or financial services.
- A confident, professional and friendly telephone manner.
- Good written English and the ability to produce clear, accurate emails.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage several enquiries at once.
- A calm and patient approach when handling sensitive situations.
- Confidence using computers, email and web-based systems.
- The ability to follow established procedures while using sensible judgement.
- A reliable and cooperative approach to working as part of a team.
What we offer
- Basic salary of £26,500–£28,000, depending on experience.
- Monthly team performance bonuses.
- Realistic total annual earnings of approximately £35,000 based on current performance.
- 37.5-hour working week.
- Monday-to-Friday office hours.
