Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Nurse or Trainee Dental Nurse to join our friendly dental practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their career within dental healthcare. Please note that this will be between our Ashford and Tenterden Practices, so a driving license and access to a car is essential for this role.
PAY RATE TO BE DISCUSSED AT INTERVIEW. THIS POSITION IS FOR 4 DAYS - PLUS A SATURDAY - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY - CURRENTLY ONE A MONTH, SHARED BETWEEN ALL NURSES.
Trainee Dental Nurses will need to be enrolled onto a NEBDEN course, at your own cost. There will be fee's payable for signing off your course as it progresses.
Responsibilities
- Assisting dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Providing patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions and care guidance
- Maintaining accurate patient records using IT systems
- Supporting patients with their queries, ensuring clear communication throughout appointments
- Managing appointment schedules efficiently and organising patient files
- Upholding infection control protocols and maintaining a clean, organised workspace
- Gaining practical experience in patient care, nursing procedures, and dental practice operations
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of patient care principles and healthcare standards
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Prior experience or knowledge of nursing or healthcare is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for trainees
- Strong IT skills for managing patient records and practice management software
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
- Organisational skills to manage appointments, documentation, and daily tasks efficiently
- A professional attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the dental healthcare sector
