Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Youth Club Leader to support the development and organisation of engaging activities for young people within our community. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about youth work, mentoring, and education to make a positive impact. The role involves working closely with trustees, staff and volunteers to create a safe and inclusive, environment for children and teenagers. Candidates should possess a genuine interest in working with young people and be committed to the charities aims.
Duties
- Assist in planning and delivering a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities tailored to different age groups.
- Support the organisation of programmes that promote personal development, teamwork, and community engagement.
- Supervise young people aged 6-12 during club sessions, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Act as a positive role model by demonstrating respectful behaviour, good communication skills, and enthusiasm.
- Mentor young participants, providing guidance and encouragement to help build their confidence.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to assess the needs of participants and adapt activities accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour incidents, and programme feedback.
- Uphold health and safety standards within the club environment in accordance with organisational policies.
Personal Specification
- Experience working with children or young people is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating patience and empathy when interacting with young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative independently.
- A genuine passion for mentoring youth and supporting their development.
- Relevant safeguarding training or willingness to undertake such training prior to commencing employment is preferred.
- Must be 18 or over due to nature of role and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
