An Independent Children and Families Advocate (Part-Time)
(24 hours per week, flexibility required as meetings may take place after school hours) Covering Staffordshire and surrounding areas
Salary - £16,008.00 unqualified - £18,013.00 qualified
We are looking for dynamic and resourceful individuals with a proven history of supporting vulnerable people, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to speak up in a variety of settings.
- The work can be both challenging and rewarding where no two days are the same.
- You must be able to clearly communicate with diverse groups of people and professionals.
- You will be expected to engage with children and families in a variety of settings i.e. care settings, schools and the community, and support them to have a voice in decisions being made about them.
- A knowledge of applicable legislation would be useful including the Children’s Act, Children and Social Work Act, Children Leaving Care Act, Care Act, Equality Act and Human Rights.
- You will be a key member of the ASIST team. ASIST offers great work/life balance opportunities and a chance to make a difference in the lives of those most vulnerable in society.
- Working from the office, care and community settings throughout Staffordshire and surrounding areas.
- Maintaining clear, concise and legible records and providing feedback and reports when required.
- Working within the legislative guidance for the provision of advocacy and within the guidelines of The Advocacy Charter.
- Carrying out the advocacy role to the standards of the advocacy Quality Performance Mark.
- Adhering to ASIST’s policies and procedures including Equality, Confidentiality, Data Protection and GDPR etc.
