We are seeking a caring, reliable, and compassionate Personal Assistant to support a delightful 3-year-old boy with complex additional needs. He is registered as severely sight impaired and requires ongoing physiotherapy to support his mobility and development.
This rewarding role will initially focus on building a trusting relationship and supporting him to take part in activities at home and within the local community. As confidence and familiarity develop, there may be opportunities to support him with outings in the future.
The child's mum will usually be present during support sessions, using this time to carry out other household and family responsibilities, while the Personal Assistant provides dedicated one-to-one support.
Hours of Work: 3 hours per week (52 weeks per year)
Preferred Day: Friday
Alternative Days: Saturday and Sunday may be available by mutual agreement with reasonable notice.
Times: Flexible and to be agreed with the family.
Rate of Pay: £14.67 per hour
Duties Will Include:

Providing personal care support

Assisting with meals and drinks

Supporting mobility needs and physiotherapy activities

Ensuring his safety, comfort, and wellbeing at all times

Following safeguarding procedures

Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child and his family

Supporting and engaging in planned activities

Encouraging play, participation, and positive experiences appropriate to his needs
Essential Qualities:

Kind, patient, and understanding nature

Experience supporting children or individuals with disabilities is desirable

Experience supporting a person with a visual impairment would be advantageous; training can be provided by the parent

Good awareness of safeguarding responsibilities

Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual

Flexible and able to agree support times to meet the family's needs

Driver with access to their own vehicle and appropriate business insurance

Comfortable working in a family home with dogs
Additional Information
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful applicant and will be funded by the employer. Any necessary training will be arranged and must be attended.
