We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama Teacher to inspire and nurture students’ creative talents within our educational community. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging drama lessons that foster confidence, communication skills, and artistic expression across a diverse age range. Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic drama lessons tailored to students’ age groups and abilities.
- Develop creative curricula that incorporate theatre techniques, improvisation, script work, and performance skills.
- Support students in developing their confidence, communication, and teamwork through drama activities.
- Organise rehearsals and coordinate performances or productions to showcase students’ talents.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, behaviour management, and positive social interactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects such as creative writing or physical education activities related to drama.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational settings, preferably within a theatre school.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies suitable for diverse classroom settings.
- Experience teaching physical education or creative writing is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to proofread scripts or written materials for clarity and accuracy.
- Childcare experience combined with a passion for theatre arts is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in teaching, early childhood education, or drama are preferred but not essential if complemented by substantial practical experience.
- DBS is a must. First aid and safeguarding is preferred but not essential
