Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious, driven, and customer-focused New Business Development Executive & Account Manager to drive revenue growth and build long-term client relationships.
This dual-role position combines proactive new business generation with the management and development of existing customer accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, securing new logistics contracts, increasing customer spend, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across a portfolio of clients.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in courier, transport, logistics, freight, or supply chain sales who thrives on winning new business while developing strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Identify and target potential customers across key sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, professional services, and public sector organisations.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and face-to-face meetings.
- Arrange and attend sales meetings both virtually and in person.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and logistics solutions.
- Conduct customer needs analysis and prepare tailored proposals and quotations.
- Negotiate commercial terms and secure profitable new contracts.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM systems.
- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
Account Management
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
- Build strong relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular account reviews and service meetings.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional logistics services.
- Monitor account performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries and escalations.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure service excellence.
- Maintain high customer retention rates and contract renewals.
Customer Relationship Management
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support.
- Understand customer supply chain challenges and provide solutions.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
- Ensure accurate CRM records and reporting.
- Gather customer feedback and support continuous service improvement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- New business revenue generated.
- Gross profit achieved.
- Number of new customer accounts won.
- Customer retention rate.
- Growth in existing account spend.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven B2B sales experience.
- Strong business development and account management background.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience managing multiple customer relationships.
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify profitable opportunities.
- Self-motivated and target-driven.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within courier, logistics, same-day delivery, freight, transport, or supply chain sectors.
- Existing network of business contacts.
- CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, etc.).
- Knowledge of healthcare and NHS logistics solutions.
